G-star by Marc Newson Autumn/Winter 2015

For Autumn/Winter ‘15, G-Star by Marc Newson embodies ‘cross-pollination’. After celebrating the collaboration’s 10-year anniversary last year, this season the collection’s characteristic Euro/Japanese streetwear take on American sportswear adds military and outdoor influences to the formula.
The Newson classics are back – with an update. The Coach and Bomber jackets are now cut from premium wools, and the Baseball jacket comes in a new 14-wale corduroy (quilted with moto-style hidden elasticated cuffs and hem) – all with that unusual architectural approach to construction.
New styles include the Quilted Overshirt, a hunting jacket inspired piece in diamond-quilted rip stop nylon, and a lone bright red, lumberjack Wool Overshirt.
The boxy upper of the silhouette is met with tapered pants. Note the Chino, rebuilt from an archival military tank pant and cut from Japanese-woven denim. With flat hips and long fly, its character lies in its ‘emptiness’.
Completed with tops in heavy, tech sweat shirting, flock printed for matt/lustre effect, the range has the iconic graphic handwriting (quite literally in the Scribble print) collected by Newson followers.
The G-Star by Marc Newson A/W ’15 collection is available online and in stores as of September 2015.
