Exploring the Rare Weaves phenomenon

It’s not unusual that you haven’t heard of him. Some might have seen his work, few have met the guy, but there’s no denying that Hartley Goldstein aka Rare Weaves is an Instagram phenomenon. It’s the construction and fabrics found in these incredible garments that bring Goldstein’s creations to another level, most poignantly described as wearable art.

While some might find the prices asked for these ‘wearable art pieces’ pretentiously high, others feel like it’s nothing compared to the time and effort placed in creating these pieces. As each piece is so unique and takes so much effort to construct, Hartley looks for vintage chore coats, trousers, kimonos, and other workwear-leaning garments that he deems to have the “perfect” fit. Starting from $200,- for a mere T-shirt, the prices can go up to a whopping $1,500 to $3,000 for a jacket or blazer.

Even if you don’t have that kind of money to spare for an intricately beautiful garment such as the ones below, you can still admire them here, or on Hartley’s Instagram.
